Buying A Killer Digital Camera Just Got Easy

By Sam Simms

It's easy to get a little overwhelmed when buying a digital camera, afterall there are hundred of cameras to choose from. The key to finding the perfect camera for your budget is to know a few things about what you're looking for.

Shop around. Make sure you spend time checking out the different stores and retailers and the different specials, packages, and prices they offer. There are so many digital cameras and retailers available to you, that with a bit of patience and hunting around you really can get a good deal. Also check online, most retailers will have bigger discounts online.

The pixel size of the digital camera is important as it will decide the resolution of a photo to be enlarged. However, better quality pictures (more mega pixels) will mean more storage space will be needed for your photos. And it will also take longer time for image display, transmission or process.

Every camera will come with some level of memory, usually 128mb. Unless you want to keep running back to your pc to download pictures, this is not going to be enough; the last thing you want to happen is the camera showing 'card full' when you see something amazing you want to photograph. It's a good idea to purchase at least one memory card. Also bear in mind higher quality pictures or pictures with more megapixels will take up more memory.

The zoom feature is also important. Some digital cameras have both digital and optical zooms. The higher the optical zoom the better. Optical zoom is always better than digital zoom. Optical zooms of between 3x and 10 x are better, the higher the optical zoom the better the digital.

The final decision in choosing the best digital camera, is to buy one that best fit you and the purpose for which it is intended. - 29888
